Mathew Shem is the Founder and Head of Administration & Operations at Stakov 360 Innovations.

He also serves as the Head of Stakov AI, Assistant Head of Stakov Labs and Stakov Data, and the Lead Trainer at StatQuestJourney Hub, the official training and education division of Stakov 360 Innovations.

Early Inspiration and the Birth of a Vision

Shem's journey into data began in 2022, soon after receiving his university admission letter. What started as a simple curiosity about data quickly evolved into a lifelong pursuit of using information to solve real-world problems. Driven by self-learning, he immersed himself in Data Science and Data Analytics, mastering tools and technologies that now define his work.

In 2022, he founded StatQuestJourney Hub, a platform that would later become the training arm of Stakov 360 Innovations. His goal was simple yet profound — to make data literacy accessible, empower young African analysts, and bridge the gap between academia and application.

Through these collaborations, he has delivered practical data analytics training in fields such as healthcare, actuarial science, and business intelligence — shaping decision-making through data-driven insights.

His time at Kenyatta National Hospital remains one of his proudest chapters, where he pioneered innovative analyses in the Medical Research Department, transforming how data was interpreted and used to drive policy and patient outcomes.

Through StatQuestJourney Hub, Shem has trained over 12,000 students in Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Applied Statistics across Nairobi, Lagos, Kampala, and Accra, as well as Southern African countries like Malawi and South Africa.

Beyond classroom instruction, he has served as a Research Assistant to numerous PhD scholars from prestigious universities including:

Under his leadership, Stakov AI and Stakov Data are driving the company’s vision of developing scalable AI solutions that support healthcare, finance, business intelligence, governance, and security sectors.

Shem is also the creator of the YouTube channel “Dr Shem 360 Hub”, where he teaches Data Analysis, Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, and AI deployment in practical, easy-to-understand tutorials. His content bridges the gap between theoretical learning and hands-on application — inspiring a global audience of aspiring analysts, developers, and researchers.
